Very good for obesity, diabetic neuropathy, paralysis, skin care, sciatica, indigestion and sclerosis of blood vessels: it activates the nerves, increases blood flow and revitalises the body, with fat reduction an important benefit. Recommended for 45 minutes per day, for 7, 14, 21 or 28 days.

Pizhichal
Pizhichal treatment

Pizhichil literally means “squeezing”: warm medicated oil is squeezed over the patient’s body from a cloth periodically dipped in a vessel of oil, while the patient lies on a wooden droni. A special combination of oil massage and heat treatment, it is also called the “treatment for aristocrats”. Beneficial for nervous weakness, hypertension, Vata imbalances and emaciation of limbs, it increases blood circulation and nourishes muscles and nerve tissues.

Njavarakizhi
Njavarakizhi treatment

One of the most effective traditional rejuvenation treatments, from the Astavaidya tradition of Kerala. Used in convalescence after injury and trauma, and effective for muscular wasting, arthritis, rheumatism, joint and muscle pains, sciatica, slipped discs, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and nervous weakness. It also improves the lustre and texture of the skin. The therapy lasts 60–90 minutes a day, for 7–28 days.

Njavaratheppu
